Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko x Playboy Y481-0450 men’s classic quartz dress watch from the 1980s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). This unique collaboration between Seiko and Playboy is an extremely uncommon collector’s piece that rarely appears for sale, especially in such well-preserved original condition. The watch is in full working condition and is keeping accurate time. All parts of the watch are original, including the integrated stainless steel bracelet and rare Playboy-signed clasp. The watch is in excellent physical condition with only a small scuff visible on the left side of the bezel. The photos best describe its overall appearance and physical condition. Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
