► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a Rare Vintage Seiko Super Chronometer 1727 Men’s Classic Sports Watch, a highly collectible Japan Domestic Market (JDM) timepiece produced in 1951 during the early postwar years of Seiko production. This exceptional watch represents one of Seiko’s higher-grade offerings of the era and features an original Seikosha movement marked “THREE ADJUSTED,” reflecting the attention to accuracy and quality that helped establish Seiko’s reputation in the years before the introduction of the Marvel line. The watch is in full working condition and is running and holding accurate time. All parts of the watch are original, including the original expandable stainless steel bracelet. The original dial features the desirable Chronometer Seiko signature along with Super, Anti-Magnetic, and Water Protected markings, while the movement is signed Seikosha Three Adjusted. The caseback is marked 1727 and also bears the Japanese inscription 東海時計 (Tokai Tokei), which translates to “Tokai Watch” or “Tokai Clock,” likely identifying the original Japanese retailer or distributor associated with the watch. The watch measures approximately 30.5mm excluding the crown, making it a classic mid-century sports watch size. It has signs of use and age consistent with a genuine vintage timepiece, but these characteristics only add to its aesthetic appeal, authenticity, and character. The photos best describe its physical condition. ► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
