► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is an extremely rare vintage Seiko SilverWave men’s ana-digi watch, reference H357-5140, produced exclusively for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1980s. This is a highly sought-after and very rare variant of the H357 series, featuring one of the most unique bezel designs Seiko ever produced, making it a standout piece for serious Seiko collectors. The watch has two known issues that are fully disclosed: • The sound function is not working • When pulling the crown out one click to adjust the digital time, the time advances extremely quickly and sometimes unpredictably. It is unclear whether this is due to user operation, original design behavior, or a mechanical issue. Beyond these points, the watch appears to be in working condition, with the analog display and digital functions operating. The watch is fitted with an aftermarket stainless steel Timex mesh band. The watch shows signs of use and age consistent with a vintage piece. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. Key Details: • Brand: Seiko • Line: SilverWave • Model / Reference: H357-5140 • Era: 1980s • Origin: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Display: Ana-Digi • Strap: Aftermarket stainless steel Timex band • Condition: Sound not functioning; digital time adjustment behaves unpredictably; otherwise appears operational — signs of use and age, see photos This is an exceptionally rare and collectible Seiko, especially in this distinctive SilverWave configuration. Pieces like this are seldom seen, particularly with this bezel design. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
