Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko Seikomatic Slim 15041D men’s automatic dress watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1960s. The Seikomatic Slim line represented one of Seiko’s premium dress watch offerings of the era and remains highly regarded among collectors for its slim profile, refined styling, and high-grade movements. This example features the desirable 30-jewel automatic movement housed in an elegant gold plated case. The watch is in full working condition and is running and holding accurate time over a 24 hour period. The watch is fitted with a gold-tone expandable bracelet. I am unsure if the bracelet is original to the watch. All other parts of the watch are original. The watch has signs of use and age consistent with a vintage timepiece. The photos best describe its overall appearance and physical condition. ► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
