► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko Quartz LC 0644-8000 men’s LCD sports watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1970s. The 0644 series represents one of Seiko’s earliest LCD watch designs and stands as an important piece from the very beginning of digital watch history.
The watch is being sold for parts or repair. It is currently not functioning and remains completely untested, so the exact issue is unknown and it is not known whether the watch can be repaired. Additionally, the display appears to have heavy screen bleed, which can be clearly seen in the photos.
The watch is in excellent physical condition overall, showing signs of use and age consistent with a vintage watch. The case presents very well for its age, and the photos best describe its physical condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY
Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
