► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko Quartz Chronograph men’s digital sports watch, reference M159-5000, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1970s. This model represents Seiko’s early digital chronograph era, featuring a distinctive stainless steel case design and integrated bracelet typical of Seiko’s experimental period in digital watchmaking. The watch is being sold for parts or repair. A battery was inserted, however the watch is currently not functioning and has not been tested beyond that point. The exact issue is unknown, and it is not known whether the watch can be repaired or restored. All parts of the watch are original, including the case, module, bracelet, clasp, and pushers. The watch shows signs of use and age consistent with a vintage timepiece. The photos best describe its physical condition, so please review them carefully. ► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
