Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko Quartz 8Y21-0020 ladies fancy dress watch from the 1970s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). This exceptionally unique model features a striking multi-tone gold design and an integrated bracelet that gives the watch a distinctive and elegant appearance unlike most Seiko dress watches of the era. The watch is in full working condition and all features and functions of the watch are working properly. All parts of the watch are original. It should be noted that the safety chain is missing. However, this does not affect the functionality of the watch or its wearability in any way. The watch is in very good physical condition with signs of use and age consistent with a vintage timepiece. Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
