► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is an extremely rare vintage Seiko C515-5009 men’s classic digital calculator watch from the Japan Domestic Market (JDM), dating to the 1980s. This iconic model features a full keypad calculator layout integrated into a stainless steel case, representing one of Seiko’s most innovative and sought-after digital designs of the era. The watch has been lightly tested and appears to be in working condition across its functions and modes. However, when the backlight is pressed and held, the watch glitches and resets. This issue has not been diagnosed, and there may be additional underlying issues. Aside from the backlight reset issue, all other functions appear to operate properly based on limited testing. All parts of the watch are original. The watch is in good physical condition and has signs of use and age, but the photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. This is one of Seiko’s most desirable and collectible calculator watches, making it a strong candidate for collectors, repair, or restoration. ► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
