► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko 5 Sportsmatic Deluxe 7619-9030 men’s gold plated automatic classic dress sports watch from the 1960s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). The Sportsmatic Deluxe series was one of Seiko’s premium automatic lines of the era and remains highly regarded among collectors for its quality movements and timeless styling. The watch is being sold for parts or repair. The watch is currently running and holding accurate time; however, the quick date function is not working properly. In addition, the watch will almost certainly require a service due to its age. The watch is fitted on a gold tone expandable bracelet which I believe may be original to the watch, though I cannot confirm this with complete certainty. The watch has signs of use and age consistent with a vintage timepiece. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully prior to purchase. Key Details: • Brand: Seiko • Model: 5 Sportsmatic Deluxe 7619-9030 • Era: 1960s • Market: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Movement: Automatic • Case: Gold Plated • Features: Day-Date Display • Condition: For parts or repair; running and holding accurate time; quick date function not working properly; service recommended; signs of use and age A desirable vintage Seiko automatic that would make an excellent restoration project or collectible example of Seiko’s classic Sportsmatic Deluxe series. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY

Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
