Up for sale is a rare vintage Seiko L620-4020 digital necklace watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1980s. This highly distinctive model features a slim, elongated gold-tone case designed to be worn as a pendant, combining Seiko’s innovative digital technology with jewelry-style presentation. These necklace watches were produced in very limited numbers and are extremely hard to find today.
The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions are operating properly.
All parts of the item are original. The watch case measures approximately 13 mm x 35 mm, giving it an elegant, slender profile when worn as a pendant. The watch is in very good overall physical condition, showing signs of use and age mostly on the case back. The front presents very well, and the photos best describe its physical condition.
This is an exceptionally unique and collectible Seiko piece that rarely appears on the market, making it a standout addition for collectors of vintage Seiko, JDM digital watches, or unusual horological designs.
Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.
► ARCHIVE FILE: SEIKO — BRAND HISTORY
Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
