► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is an extremely rare vintage Timex Skiathlom men’s digital sports watch from the 1980s. This model is widely regarded by collectors as one of the true grail pieces in vintage Timex history due to its highly unconventional design, specialized functionality, and very limited production. The bold rectangular case layout, oversized multi-color pushers, and integrated sports instrument styling make this watch instantly recognizable and unlike anything else Timex produced during the era. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions operate properly. The digital display is clear and legible, and the watch functions exactly as intended. As shown in the photos, the dial layout includes time and date display, chronograph functionality, and an integrated thermometer feature, a standout complication that makes the Skiathlom especially unique among vintage digital watches. The case back is stainless steel and clearly signed Timex Skiathlom, with factory markings visible, confirming authenticity. The watch shows signs of use and age consistent with its era, and the photos best describe its physical condition. Despite normal wear, it remains an excellent example of this rare model and retains strong visual presence and originality. The watch is fitted with a specially made high-quality aftermarket strap designed specifically for the Skiathlom’s unique lug and case configuration. This strap complements the watch perfectly and allows it to be worn comfortably while preserving the integrity of the original design. This is an exceptionally hard-to-find vintage Timex and a standout piece for serious collectors of rare digital sports watches or iconic 1980s designs. Opportunities to acquire a fully functional Skiathlom in this condition are extremely uncommon. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: TIMEX — BRAND HISTORY

Timex descends from the Waterbury Clock Company, founded in 1854 in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, a region so dense with clockmakers it was called the Switzerland of America. Waterbury helped invent the cheap, honest American watch: the Ingersoll Yankee of 1896, built by Waterbury and sold for one dollar, was advertised as the watch that made the dollar famous, and the Mickey Mouse watch of 1933 sold so well it pulled the company through the Depression.
