► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Citizen Independent “GOA Trance” Limited Edition unisex digital sports watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1990s. This highly unusual model features an eye-catching futuristic design with bold colors and sculpted styling typical of Citizen Independent’s experimental era. The watch is new old stock (NOS) and in full working condition with all features and functions operating properly. The battery clip does not close properly during battery installation. This does not affect the operation of the watch and only affects battery changes. All parts of the watch are original and the watch comes complete with its original hang tags. The watch presents in excellent unused physical condition with only minor signs of long-term storage and handling. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. A very unique and highly collectible limited edition Citizen Independent model that is becoming increasingly difficult to find today especially in NOS condition with its original tags. Key Details: • Brand: Citizen Independent • Model: GOA Trance Limited Edition • Era: 1990s • Market: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Display: Digital • Style: Unisex • Includes: Original hang tags • Condition: NOS full working condition; battery clip issue during battery installation; all original Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CITIZEN — BRAND HISTORY

Citizen traces to the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, founded in Tokyo in 1918. Its first product, a pocket watch completed in 1924, was christened CITIZEN, a name encouraged by Tokyo mayor Shinpei Goto in the hope that the watch would be close to the hearts of ordinary people. Citizen Watch Co. was formally established in 1930, and through the postwar decades it grew into one of the two pillars of Japanese watchmaking alongside Seiko, eventually ranking among the largest watch producers in the world.
