► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Citizen Exceed men’s classic quartz dress watch from the 1970s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). The Exceed line represents Citizen’s higher-end offerings from the era, known for refined design, slim profiles, and quality finishing. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions are operating properly, including timekeeping. All parts of the watch are original, including the case, dial, crown, and the original strap with Exceed-signed buckle. The watch is in very good physical condition, showing signs of use and age consistent with a worn vintage watch. The strap is beginning to deteriorate from age and may need to be replaced for regular wear. The dial has a subtle brownish-reddish hue that is difficult to capture in photos and presents much more attractively in person. The photos best describe its overall physical condition and should be reviewed carefully prior to purchase. Key Details: • Brand: Citizen • Model: Exceed • Movement: Quartz • Era: 1970s (JDM) • Case Material: Gold-tone • Strap: Original strap with Exceed signed buckle • Case Size: Approximately 30mm x 37mm • Features: Time display • Condition: Full working condition A refined and elegant vintage Citizen dress watch, offering understated styling and a unique dial tone that stands out in hand, making it a great addition for collectors or everyday wear. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CITIZEN — BRAND HISTORY

Citizen traces to the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, founded in Tokyo in 1918. Its first product, a pocket watch completed in 1924, was christened CITIZEN, a name encouraged by Tokyo mayor Shinpei Goto in the hope that the watch would be close to the hearts of ordinary people. Citizen Watch Co. was formally established in 1930, and through the postwar decades it grew into one of the two pillars of Japanese watchmaking alongside Seiko, eventually ranking among the largest watch producers in the world.
