► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Citizen Cosmotron 7804 men’s electronic dress watch from the 1970s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). The Cosmotron series represents an important chapter in Citizen’s history, featuring early electronic movement technology during the transition from traditional mechanical watches to the quartz era. The watch is in full working condition and is operating properly. All parts of the watch are original with the exception of the stainless steel expandable bracelet, which may or may not be original to the watch, and I am unable to confirm its originality. The watch is in very good physical condition, but has signs of use and age, and the photos best describe its physical condition. Key Details: • Brand: Citizen • Model: Cosmotron 7804 • Era: 1970s • Market: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Movement: Electronic • Display: Analog • Bracelet: Stainless steel expandable bracelet (originality unknown) • Condition: Full working condition • Originality: All other parts of the watch are original • Physical Condition: Very good physical condition with signs of use and age A rare and increasingly collectible Citizen from the pioneering era of electronic watchmaking, the Cosmotron 7804 offers distinctive 1970s styling and historical significance. An excellent addition to any vintage Citizen or Japanese watch collection. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CITIZEN — BRAND HISTORY

Citizen traces to the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, founded in Tokyo in 1918. Its first product, a pocket watch completed in 1924, was christened CITIZEN, a name encouraged by Tokyo mayor Shinpei Goto in the hope that the watch would be close to the hearts of ordinary people. Citizen Watch Co. was formally established in 1930, and through the postwar decades it grew into one of the two pillars of Japanese watchmaking alongside Seiko, eventually ranking among the largest watch producers in the world.
