► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is an ultra rare and highly collectible vintage Casio SUF-1000 Surfing Timer men’s digital sports watch, powered by Module 916. This Japan Domestic Market (JDM) model from the 1980s is one of Casio’s most unique sport watches, designed specifically for surfing and water sport timing. Very few of these surface for sale, and it is exceptionally rare to find one with its original factory band, as most were replaced decades ago.
The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch operate properly — including time, stopwatch, surfing timer function, and illumination. The rotating bezel is present and intact; it is very stiff due to age, but it can be turned with effort.
The watch is in great physical condition with signs of use and age consistent with a worn vintage watch. The factory strap still has its original printed markings: “SURFING TIMER,” “WATER SPORTS,” and “20 BAR,” confirming its originality. The photos best describe its physical condition.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
