Up for sale is a rare vintage Casio GG-9 Golf Game digital watch, featuring Module 227 and produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1980s. The Casio game watch series is among the most collectible and sought-after digital watches ever produced, and the GG-9 stands out as one of the more unique novelty sports game models from the era with its built-in golf game functionality and distinctive display design.
This example is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are operating properly, including timekeeping, alarm, chronograph, and game functions. The watch has heavy screen bleed that is clearly visible in the photos. This issue is purely aesthetic and does not affect the functionality of the watch in any way.
The watch is fitted on an aftermarket replacement strap. All other parts of the watch are original. Physically, the watch shows signs of use and age consistent with a worn vintage watch. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully.
This watch would make an excellent candidate for restoration or parts, as some collectors and hobbyists have successfully reduced or removed screen bleed issues on similar vintage Casio displays.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
