► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Casio Casiotron 59CGS-57 digital alarm sports watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1970s. The Casiotron series represents some of Casio’s earliest and most historically important digital watches, helping establish the foundation for the brand’s dominance in digital watchmaking during the late 1970s and 1980s. This example is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are operating properly, including timekeeping, alarm, and date functions. The watch features a beautiful classic early Casio design with a gold tone case and matching integrated bracelet, giving it a timeless vintage digital aesthetic. All parts of the watch are original, including the original Casio signed bracelet. The watch shows signs of use and age consistent with a worn vintage watch, most notably on the bracelet where there is visible wear to the finish. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. Key Details: • Brand: Casio • Model: Casiotron 59CGS-57 • Features: Digital display, alarm, date, light • Origin: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Era: 1970s • Bracelet: Original Casio bracelet • Condition: Full working condition; all original parts; signs of use and age most notably on the bracelet – see photos A very rare opportunity to own an early Casio Casiotron digital watch from the formative years of digital watch history. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
