► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is an ultra-rare vintage Casio Casiotron men’s digital sports watch, reference 03-502, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1970s. This early Casiotron model represents one of Casio’s pioneering digital designs and is exceptionally difficult to find today—especially in full working condition. The watch is in full working condition. All digital functions operate properly, including timekeeping and date display. The light button is fully functional, though it has a noted quirk: it sits slightly recessed in the case, and on occasion it may pop out to a more normal position. When this happens, it is a bit firm and simply needs to be pressed back in to resume its recessed position and function normally. This appears to be a minor mechanical quirk and could likely be corrected with careful tinkering. This behavior is disclosed for accuracy and transparency. All parts of the watch are original, including the stainless steel case and original Casio bracelet. The watch shows signs of use and age consistent with a genuine 1970s timepiece. Please review the photos carefully, as they best describe the watch’s physical condition. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
