Up for sale is an extremely rare vintage Casio 50QS-17 men’s digital sports watch from the 1970s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). This early-generation Casio digital model represents the pioneering era of electronic watchmaking, when Casio was introducing some of the world’s first practical digital wristwatches.
The watch features a classic stainless steel case with a clean early digital display layout and a distinctive three-button front control design, a hallmark of many of Casio’s earliest quartz digital models. The simple and functional aesthetic captures the futuristic design language of the late 1970s when digital watches were at the forefront of consumer technology.
The watch is in full working condition and all features and functions of the watch are working.
All parts of the watch are original, including the case, display, and the original Casio signed stainless steel bracelet.
The watch is in very good physical condition, but shows signs of use and age consistent with a worn vintage item. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully prior to purchase.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY
Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
