► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is an extremely rare vintage Casio 31QGR-16 men’s digital chronograph sports/dress watch, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1970s. This is one of Casio’s early gold-tone digital designs and is exceptionally difficult to find today, especially in good physical condition with its original bracelet. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are working properly. All parts of the watch are original, including the extremely rare gold-tone Casio stainless steel bracelet, which is seldom found intact on these models. The watch is in great physical condition for its age and shows signs of use and age consistent with a genuine 1970s timepiece. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. The caseback features Japanese engraving, which reads: 創立 60 周年記念 薩摩鉱業 Y.K Translation: “Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the company’s founding – Satsuma Mining Industry – Y.K” Key Details: • Brand: Casio • Model: 31QGR-16 • Era: 1970s • Market: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Display: Digital • Bracelet: Original rare gold-tone Casio stainless steel bracelet • Condition: Full working condition; signs of use and age Gold-tone examples of these early Casio digital watches are extremely rare, particularly in good physical condition with original bracelet. A true collector-grade piece and an outstanding addition to any serious vintage Casio or JDM digital watch collection. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
