Up for sale is a rare vintage Bulova WWII Medical Officer’s men’s military watch, an exceptional historical timepiece produced during the World War II era. Watches of this type were issued to or worn by medical personnel, where precision timekeeping was critical in field and clinical settings, making them both historically significant and highly collectible today.
The watch is running and holding accurate time and was professionally serviced in September 2025, ensuring proper operation and reliability. The movement is a high-quality Bulova mechanical caliber with 17 jewels, finished in the utilitarian style typical of wartime production, with functional engineering prioritized over ornamentation.
The case features period-correct military construction with markings inside the caseback consistent with wartime Bulova production, including material specifications and manufacturer information associated with military supply standards of the era. These details help confirm its authenticity and historical context.
The watch is fitted with an aftermarket black leather strap, which complements the military aesthetic while allowing for comfortable wear. The original case, dial, hands, and movement are consistent with the watch’s WWII origins.
The case size measures approximately 27mm x 35mm, which is typical for military wristwatches of this period.
Condition-wise, the watch is in good physical condition for its age, showing honest wear consistent with decades of history and use. The dial retains strong character and legibility, and the overall presentation reflects a well-preserved wartime instrument rather than a modern restoration.

► ARCHIVE FILE: BULOVA — BRAND HISTORY
Joseph Bulova, a Bohemian immigrant, opened a small jewelry shop on Maiden Lane in lower Manhattan in 1875. By the 1920s the company he built had become a pioneer of standardized, mass-produced wristwatches, with a factory in Bienne, Switzerland feeding movements to New York assembly lines. Bulova also understood marketing earlier than almost anyone: it sponsored the first national radio time announcement in 1926 and, on July 1, 1941, aired the first television commercial ever broadcast, a simple Bulova clock face shown before a Brooklyn Dodgers game.
