► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a rare vintage Alba Reiji Matsumoto Alien Talking Voice Watch, reference Y825-4020, produced exclusively for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the 1980s. Designed by legendary manga artist Reiji Matsumoto, this striking and unconventional timepiece features a very unique alien face on the front of the watch, making it one of the most visually distinctive and imaginative watches to come out of Alba’s experimental era. Unlike conventional digital or analog watches, this model communicates the time through a talking voice function rather than a traditional display. When activated, the watch audibly announces the time, reflecting the playful and futuristic design language that defined Matsumoto’s work and Japan’s innovation during the 1980s. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions operate properly, including the talking voice function. All parts of the watch are original. The watch shows signs of use and age consistent with a vintage timepiece. The photos best describe its physical condition, so please review them carefully. ► ARCHIVE FILE: ALBA — BRAND HISTORY

Alba is Seiko's other answer to the 1970s upheaval it had itself created. Seiko launched the brand in 1979 as a youth-oriented value line, a name taken from the word for dawn, slotted beneath Seiko proper just as Pulsar, acquired in 1978, served the same role in export markets. Alba watches were designed and built within the Seiko group, using its quartz calibers and factories, but were sold almost exclusively in Japan and Southeast Asia, which is why most of the world has never seen one in a shop window.
