► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a Rare Vintage Alba Quartz men’s Kanji classic dress watch, reference Y143-8141, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) during the 1980s. Alba, a subsidiary of Seiko, was known for producing well-engineered and stylish watches for the Japanese market, and this model reflects the clean and timeless design typical of vintage JDM dress watches. The watch features a classic analog layout with day and date display including Kanji characters for the day wheel. The watch is being sold for parts or repair as it is currently not functioning and has not been tested. Because it is completely untested, it is unknown what the issue may be or if the watch can be repaired. All parts of the watch are original, including the Alba signed stainless steel bracelet and clasp. The watch has signs of use and age, but the photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. Key Details: • Brand: Alba (Seiko subsidiary) • Model: Y143-8141 • Era: 1980s (JDM) • Movement: Quartz analog • Features: Day and date display with Kanji day wheel • Bracelet: Original Alba stainless steel bracelet • Originality: All parts original • Condition: Not functioning; completely untested; sold for parts or repair A desirable vintage Alba JDM dress watch with Kanji day display, offering classic 1980s Japanese watch styling and a great restoration candidate for collectors. Ships carefully. Feel free to message me with any questions.

► ARCHIVE FILE: ALBA — BRAND HISTORY

Alba is Seiko's other answer to the 1970s upheaval it had itself created. Seiko launched the brand in 1979 as a youth-oriented value line, a name taken from the word for dawn, slotted beneath Seiko proper just as Pulsar, acquired in 1978, served the same role in export markets. Alba watches were designed and built within the Seiko group, using its quartz calibers and factories, but were sold almost exclusively in Japan and Southeast Asia, which is why most of the world has never seen one in a shop window.
