► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a Rare Vintage Alba Field Gear V743-8000 men’s luminous sports watch from the 1990s, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). Part of Alba’s Field Gear series, this model features a highly legible field-style dial with bold Arabic numerals and a distinctive fully luminous dial that gives the watch a striking glow in low light conditions. The watch is in full working condition and all features and functions of the watch are working properly with one exception. The day on the day-date display does not fully turn over into position on the display. The days cycle correctly when advanced, but they do not fully center when displayed. This may be a simple fix or something more involved, but the exact cause is unknown. The watch is fitted on an aftermarket black strap that complements the field watch design nicely. The watch is in very good physical condition overall and shows signs of use and age consistent with a vintage piece. The photos best describe its physical condition and should be reviewed carefully. Key Details: • Brand: Alba (Seiko) • Model: Field Gear V743-8000 • Movement: Quartz • Era: 1990s • Market: Japan Domestic Market (JDM) • Style: Field / Sports Watch • Dial: Fully luminous dial with Arabic numerals • Strap: Aftermarket black strap • Condition: Running and working; day display does not fully turn over; very good physical condition with signs of use and age A unique and collectible Alba Field Gear model featuring an uncommon fully luminous dial and classic field watch design — an interesting piece for collectors of vintage Japanese field and military-style watches. ► ARCHIVE FILE: ALBA — BRAND HISTORY

Alba is Seiko's other answer to the 1970s upheaval it had itself created. Seiko launched the brand in 1979 as a youth-oriented value line, a name taken from the word for dawn, slotted beneath Seiko proper just as Pulsar, acquired in 1978, served the same role in export markets. Alba watches were designed and built within the Seiko group, using its quartz calibers and factories, but were sold almost exclusively in Japan and Southeast Asia, which is why most of the world has never seen one in a shop window.
