Up for sale is a rare vintage Alba 2002 FIFA World Cup unisex quartz sports watch, reference V501-0AL0, produced for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) to commemorate the 2002 Korea/Japan FIFA World Cup. Alba is a Seiko sub-brand, and this model combines classic field-watch styling with special event branding, making it a highly collectible sports-themed timepiece. The watch is in full working condition, and all features and functions of the watch are operating properly. All parts of the watch are original. The watch comes complete with its original box, original papers/manual, and commemorative 2002 FIFA World Cup pin, which is rarely found together with the watch. Alba is Seiko's other answer to the 1970s upheaval it had itself created. Seiko launched the brand in 1979 as a youth-oriented value line, a name taken from the word for dawn, slotted beneath Seiko proper just as Pulsar, acquired in 1978, served the same role in export markets. Alba watches were designed and built within the Seiko group, using its quartz calibers and factories, but were sold almost exclusively in Japan and Southeast Asia, which is why most of the world has never seen one in a shop window.
