► SELLER'S DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a vintage Casio W-741 men’s digital sports wristwatch, built with Module 1275 and originally released for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM) in the early 1990s. This example is presented in an extremely rare white and orange colorway and is New Old Stock, complete with its original box, papers, and hang tag. The watch is in mint, never-used physical condition. All features and functions of the watch are working properly, including timekeeping, alarm, stopwatch, hourly chime, and electro-luminescent backlight. The display is clear, and the buttons respond exactly as they should. It comes fitted with its original orange nylon strap, which remains unused and perfectly complements the bold white case and orange accents. This color combination is exceptionally hard to find, especially in unused condition with full original packaging. Please note: the original plastic display box has some damage — certain areas are cracked and beginning to crack — but it still presents nicely overall and remains a desirable part of the complete set. ► ARCHIVE FILE: CASIO — BRAND HISTORY

Casio began not with watches but with calculation. Tadao Kashio founded Kashio Seisakujo in Tokyo in 1946, and with his three brothers developed the 14-A in 1957, the world's first compact all-electric relay calculator, incorporating the business as Casio Computer Co. that same year. The move into watchmaking came in November 1974 with the Casiotron, a digital watch whose claim to fame was an automatic calendar that knew how many days each month had, a small feat of logic that announced how an electronics firm would approach timekeeping.
